Dubai packs more icons into one city than almost anywhere on earth. If you're planning a Dubai city tour, here are the ten stops that should be on your list β and how to make the most of each one.
1. Burj Khalifa
At 828 metres, the world's tallest building needs no introduction. Seeing it from the ground is impressive; seeing the city from its At The Top observation decks (levels 124β125) is unforgettable. Insider tip: book a morning slot for the thinnest crowds, or time your visit 45 minutes before sunset for golden-hour views.
2. Dubai Mall & Dubai Fountain
Right beneath the Burj Khalifa lies the world's largest shopping mall, home to an aquarium, an ice rink and 1,200+ stores. Step outside in the evening for the Dubai Fountain show β free, spectacular, and running every 30 minutes after dark.
3. Dubai Frame
The gleaming, 150-metre golden frame perfectly captures Dubai's story: look one way and you see historic Deira, look the other and it's the futuristic skyline. The glass-floor skywalk at the top is a thrill in itself. Entry is included in our full-day city tour.
4. Museum of the Future
Even if you don't go inside, the torus-shaped building wrapped in Arabic calligraphy is one of the most photographed structures in the city. Your guide will know the exact spot for the perfect shot.
5. Palm Jumeirah & Atlantis
Drive along the trunk of the world's most famous man-made island to the iconic Atlantis The Palm resort at its crown. The views of the Dubai skyline from The Pointe are superb.
6. Burj Al Arab
The sail-shaped silhouette of the world's most luxurious hotel is best photographed from Jumeirah Public Beach β another classic stop on every sightseeing route.
7. Jumeirah Mosque
One of the few mosques in Dubai open to non-Muslim visitors, and one of the most beautiful. Even the exterior photo stop is worth it.
8. Al Fahidi Historical District
Dubai before the skyscrapers: wind-tower houses, quiet lanes, art galleries and museums. This heritage quarter is the soul of Old Dubai.
9. Abra Ride on Dubai Creek
For just a few dirhams, cross the creek on a traditional wooden water taxi β a genuine slice of everyday Dubai life that hasn't changed in decades.
10. Gold & Spice Souks
Finish in Deira's legendary markets. Watch the gold shop windows glitter, breathe in saffron and frankincense, and put your bargaining skills to the test (start at about half the asking price!).
